Romance

Why do we love romance novels?  As a romance author, what drives me?  What makes romance novels the #1 seller over all books? My favorite romance author would have to be Joanna Lindsey.  I love stories that are written in bygone days.  Men weren’t the same as they are now.  They were tough because their survival depended upon it. I can’t speak with certainty on any subject from the days before my time, but I’m pretty sure that a man married his first love.  I find this to be enticing, romantic and alluring.  One man, one woman -for life!  Love really meant something back then.  At least, Joanna Lindsey makes me believe it.  That’s why I love her stories. I just read the hook for Barbara Freethy’s new book, “If I Didn’t Know Better.”  I think I’m going to give this one a try.  It sounds good!  I’ve always liked romance stories where there is adventure, mystery, water and a soldier.  She’s managed to capture all of these goodies in one book.  I’ll let you know what I …

Foreign Drama

Doctor Champ +5 Hulu 16 episodes 2010 “I’m not worried!  The longer people know me, the more they like me.” Jeong Kyeo Woon had the perfect lines for this character.  In the beginning, I watched this drama marginally interested.  After all, Kyeo Woon has a great body and is nice looking. As the story continued, this character won me over, little by little, just as he does Kim So Yeon (The Prosecutor Princess).  By the time you reach the 12th episode, I was completely head-over-heels for the guy.  Slow, but steady! I also loved Jung Suk Won -wow!  He is really a nice-looking guy.  He starts out tough and unforgiving, but quickly turns into a smooth judo friend. Uhm Tae Woong was also a heavy hitter in this drama.  One moment you think he is going to win the girl and the next moment he’s trying to win back his former love.  Then he is helping Kyeo Woon win over So Yeon.  I found him charming, yet, typically arrogant -for a doctor. Cha Ye Ryun …

Foreign Drama

Choi Min Ho is making a new drama coming out in September of 2015.  It is called, “Because it’s the first time.”  It will air on a Korean website called, OnStyle.  However, I won’t be surprised if we can’t watch it on YouTube.  There are already trailer’s out on Google+ and YouTube, so check them out. Apparently, in this drama Min Ho will be a spoiled rich boy, with his own rooftop home, and plenty of attractive young girls vying for his attention.  I can’t wait to see it! I am also looking forward to his movie, “Grandmother Gye Choon”.  So far I haven’t seen anything about its release in America. If you are a fan of Choi Min Ho, of Shinee, make sure you watch for this drama, and movie.  I look forward to many films in his future. There is also a poll going around to encourage SM Entertainment to have Shinee do a World Tour.  I hope you look for this and sign in.  Since they did not come for KCON this …

I Think…

In 1966, Coco Chanel stated, “Dégoütant, I know why men don’t like women any more.”  She was referring to the miniskirt.  Dégoütant means disgusting. Is there any truth behind her words?  With a world seemingly becoming predominately filled with homosexual men, could it be women have taken the sex appeal of our bodies from the minds of men?  Ms Chanel was considered a very beautiful woman during her youth.  I’ve seen a picture of her, and she was indeed pretty. Still, despite her beauty and fame she refused to wear a skirt shorter than just above her knees.  Is the hidden parts of a woman, what appeals to a man?  What temptations lie just out of sight?  Does he crave the unknown? It is a thought to ponder.  As I scan through pictures on social media, such as Pinterest, Google+ and emagazines, I am bombarded with half-naked women, or women exposing their underwear in nearly every picture. As I contemplate my own attraction toward men, I realize that the fit of a man’s jeans, the hint of a muscular …

I Think…

“I like you,’ pause ‘Madly!” Man did I wish I’d come up with these words!  Unfortunately, they aren’t mine.  These are the wonderful, beautiful, moving words belonging to the writer(s) of Doctor Champ.  I’m not going to critique this drama today because I haven’t finished it. You will find this scene at the end of episode eight.  It is, so far, the best scene in the whole drama.  You know, those moments when words hit your core and explode inside.  Yeah, this was one of the moments for me.  Lots of times we tell people we like them.  It happens in every Korean drama – but this was different.  I suppose it was the “madly” that got me.  To be liked to the point, a man is crazy with need to be close to you, touch you, own you -breathtaking! I believe every woman wants to be loved madly -at least as long as the guy isn’t a lunatic.  That would ruin it!  Right?  I hope you guys agree with me.  I don’t really want to travel the world saving …

I Think…

Why should you read my posts?  What do I know about writing?  Can I help a young writer on his/her journey?  I guess that would depend upon where you are on your path to becoming a published author. I’m just beginning! I don’t have all the answers.  I read post after post of published authors telling me every component of self-publishing and how to market your book.  I’m fascinated by those posts!  Why?  Simply, because I want to learn this market! So, how can I help you?  By inspiring you to dream!  Ah, you were waiting on some amazing words that would help you soar into the world of a published author, having sold thousands of books -maybe as many as J.K. Rowling.  Hurry and sign that movie contract! Sorry!  My book won’t even be on the market until January of 2016.  Will The Living Miracle, A Love Story be a best seller?  I hope so! The truth is -I don’t have the truth.  I can only offer you my journey.  Learn from my mistakes and …

I Think…

Does life ever get easier?  Do I know the answer to this question?  How can I even be sure if what I think is right?  Does anyone care?  The answers to these questions probably vary from moment to moment and day to day for most people.  However, for me, I would clearly tell you that life never gets easier. Yes, there are moments, periods of time that it seems blissful! These are the moments I wait for.  Moments I can sit back without worry, or pressure; relaxing in my ease! Then the bomb drops and you are again humbled by the complications of everyday life.  Bravely, you attempt to face them as if they don’t faze you.  Funny!  How can we go unfazed?  Still, I will pretend.  If I smile and allow the problems to wash off, believing we will find the way then, and only after that, can I breathe. Bob and I live every day believing that we must trust our Father’s plans for our life.  When difficulties rear their ugly heads, we start out …
