Guest Post – Questions you should never ask your husband

“Do you know what you’re doing?” Nope, just  avoid this one. There is no tone, inflection, or body language that you can wrap this one in. Simply asking the question is a complete no confidence vote. Standing by with a first aid kit or a fire extinguisher just reinforces the no confidence vote with props for dramatic effect. Smile sweetly and pour praise over him, because the last words he ever hears should not be, “do you know what you’re doing?” “Does this make me look fat?” Literally volumes have been written about this question and how to respond to it. There may well be an active  12 step meeting for people recovering from this question. You shouldn’t ask this question for two reasons, first you’re messing with your own mind, and second, his only form of self defense is going to require him to mess with your mind, too. That just creates a mess. “Can we afford this?” Now that’s a difficult one, because chances are pretty good you…

On Being Salt and Light…

Something I’ve discovered about myself on the internet is that I have a very short fuse when it comes to whiners. It’s somewhat amusing, I was never aware of this until recently, but you know that  little twitch you start to get in your eyebrow, that 10 point rise in your blood pressure? Yep, like that. That little signal that lets me know I’ve encountered a real whiner. My family has been well aware of my problem with whiners for a number of years now, but has never said a word beyond like, “like duh.” All in good humor here, but this certainly does explain my sudden and swift lack of empathy when I encounter a whiner, something rather out of character for me. You may wonder what in the world this has to do with being salt and light, so perhaps some background is in order. I frequently attempt to chat with people, sometimes about matters of faith. Every now and than I encounter…

My Inner Comedienne Gets Piste Off

No sooner had I opened the kitchen door than she was there, leaning against the stainless steel front of my refrigerator. “Just vhere do you sink you ah govink?” she demands. I lift my brows at her newly-acquired accent, sounding as she does like the love child of Colonel Klink and The Terminator.    +     =  ? “What’s with the accent?” I ask in all innocence, though I am not at all surprised by her latest foray into mad behaviour. “Aggzent?” She asks, bewildered. “Vaht aggzent?”  I sigh. There is no point in pressing the issue. “Never mind,” I say, hoping she has forgot her question. She hasn’t. “So vhat ah you doink in ze kitchen, zen?” “Nothin’,” I lie, tucking my empty Pinot Grigio glass behind my back and trying to look casual. I can feel the heat of her glare from behind her black ski goggles. “Liar!” she shouts. “YOU VER GOINK FOR ZE VINE!” I roll my eyes and place my glass next to the sink. It…

Hi fellow bloggers, you haven’t heard from me lately because I’ve been working on my book.  I’ve finally got the EPUB, PDF versions and Kindle versions published. You’ll see I’ve put a Facebook widget on the blog.  It will take you to the book page.  You can like me there, but I can’t return the compliment.  I’ve built an ordinary Facebook page to link to it, where I can interact with you. There are also links to Lulu and Amazon if you want to buy the eBook. I’ve made a video of the story, based on the book synopsis, which I’ve been told is awesome. If you haven’t seen it on the book Facebook page, here it is. The Kingdom – Here Be Dragons, Here Be Dreams Thanks for following me, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Foreign Drama -She Was Pretty

She Was Pretty Hulu +5 16 episodes 2016 This was a perfect fairytale!  I wish I would have written this drama, as I love fairytales. Every since I watched Kill Me, Heal Me, I’ve hoped Park Seo Joon would get a lead role.  He is soooooo cute, and talented.  This was a dream come true.  I am thrilled.  He pulled it off with such finesse. I can’t say enough about this well rounded cast.  There wasn’t anyone who failed to deliver their perfect performance.  Who didn’t love the Italian-speaking queen, that was most-esque? The moment I saw Choi Siwon on the screen; I knew who he was, despite the insane behavior he was displaying.  It is funny how he transformed himself from the sexy, talented figure of Oh My Lady, to this bumbling, mumbling bum.  Even with this simple side, he was still complex and charming.  How could any woman resist him? Hwang Jung Eum made us all fall in love with her in Kill Me, Heal Me.  The relationship she had with both men was dear to …
