irumeur… (Gun Control)

Gun Control. I’ve been talking with dalecooper57.  Together, we have argued, pleasantly, the pros and cons of government and gun control.  I’ve really enjoyed the debate. So, he wrote: after two hundred years of getting to the point where you have more guns than people, there is no way for you to back out, you’re committed to slowly rising self-destruction. This is my response.  A little lengthy. Harsh.  You have us, doomed.  We are people who love our toys.  A dangerous toy to be had, but as collectors, we collect what we love.  Not for violence, but for the brag.  My dad, a sharp shooter for the Air Force, left me several rifles.  I cherish them.  Not because I want to shoot anyone -quite the contrary -I don’t know if I could harm another, even if my life depended upon it.  I cherish them, because they are a part of him.  When he was a boy, you owned your own rifle.  On the very land I live upon, my dad, and his dad roamed, hunting for …

Just Jot It January 10, 2016

Just Jot It January 10th – Sane     Jot – Sane S.A.N.E Online Catalog has been providing supplies for Home Economics  (now called Family and Consumer Science Department) teachers since the year I graduated -1976. I know -I should have gone with the real definition of sane -but it was simply too irresistible to change it up. When I was in school, it was mandatory that a girl took this course.  Now, both girls and boys get the honor.  Is it mandatory?  I still think it’s a required course, but designed as a one-year class, for jr. high students.  Don’t quote me on that -my girls took it in jr. high.  Maybe, they offer it to older kids. I loved this class -well, possibly not the cooking section.  My family says I burn everything.  Okay, I confess -I hate standing in front of anything that doesn’t move, and demands my attention. I often tease them about how I am going to try out for Master Chef and introduce the world to Burnt Vegetables.  You know; …

Foreign Drama -Smile Donghae

Smile Donghae 2010-2011 Hulu 159 episodes +3 I started watching this drama because Ji Chang Wook was the star.  I was hesitant, with so many episodes.  I just don’t like more than 30 episodes, or they add too much fill, that makes me batty. With the exception of Empress Ki.  No, I didn’t watch every episode of Empress Ki (also starring Ji Chang Wook) but it was because those episodes were just to gut wrenching for me to sit through. So, I stayed with this drama, skipping a couple here and there after about 71 episodes.  Oh, my gosh -was it long!!!! Why did I rate this with only a 3, when Chang Wook was in it?  Simple, Anna! Yes, Do Ji Won was fantastic at portraying a mentally challenged woman.  However, her character was either crying, acting like a very young child (that could not possibly raise a child on her own), or screaming James, over and over and over and over.  I wanted to tape her mouth shut!  How can anybody pull off …

Nonsense

Sometimes, you just stumble onto something, without even giving it much thought -and it changes your life. Linda G. Hill has brought dozens of people to my blog site.  I’d seen SoCS many times, as it blinked into my email, and erased it.  Honestly, I just didn’t think about writing from prompts.  I’m ashamed to admit this -but I am an honest woman.  One of my possible strengths, and flaws. One day, Just Jot It January popped up.  I deleted it.  After about two seconds, I brought it back up.  The name just sounded interesting.  After reading her list of prompts -I thought it would be fun. If you are a blogger -and you want to be noticed, check out lindaghill.com.  It’s not only fun -it will bring people to your site.
